// The Mandate
Six Categories.
Six Buyer Profiles.
The City of Polokwane instructed Isivuno Auctions Afrika to conduct a public competitive disposal of municipal assets spanning six distinct categories — yellow plant, municipal fleet, water and service delivery equipment, electrical infrastructure, office and ICT assets, and workshop equipment.
A portfolio of this breadth does not sell itself. The Caterpillar and Bell graders, the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz fleet, and the Hino water tankers each draw a fundamentally different buyer. NTelechy's role was to build and reach all of those audiences simultaneously, before the viewing day.
NTelechy's mandate: not to describe the assets — but to put qualified buyers in front of them before the hammer fell.
// Auction Day Video
The auction floor, documented.
NTelechy managed social media coverage across five platforms on auction day — live updates, lot announcements and community engagement from pre-campaign through to the final hammer.
The video below captures the Polokwane auction in action — evidence that the right audience showed up on the day.
// Audience Strategy
A grader buyer is not
a bakkie buyer.
NTelechy mapped each asset category to its buyer profile and built a separate distribution channel for each.
| Buyer Profile | What They Were Buying | How We Reached Them |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow Plant Specialists | Caterpillar, Bell, Mitsubishi & Volvo graders; Case & Volvo TLBs; Shantui dozer | LinkedIn sponsored, Facebook paid (Limpopo, Gauteng, North West), WhatsApp broadcast |
| Fleet & Transport Buyers | Toyota Quantum fleet (29 units); BMW X5; Mercedes-Benz ML350; commercial trucks | Facebook paid, Instagram visual, WhatsApp broadcast |

“Municipal asset auctions at this scale require an audience that is qualified, competitive, and drawn from across the country — not just the local market. The digital marketing campaign exists to solve a reach problem. Without that reach, the assets sell to whoever happens to drive past the venue on the day.”
Peter Ledwaba — Co-Founder & MD, NTelechy
